I was talking with a friend the other day and he said, you know how we always tell people to have a great day when we’re leaving? I said, sure I do it all the time. He said, “I have decided to change that up. Instead of “have a great day”, how about ” do something great!” Do something great<\/strong>. What does that really mean? We all might think it would be something grand or monumental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually something great could be something so tiny or insignificant that the world wouldn’t even notice, but it’s great to whom it was done. Take the “Widows Mite”, The Gospel of Mark specifies that two mites<\/em> (Greek lepta<\/em>) are together worth a quadrans<\/a><\/em>, the smallest Roman coin. A lepton<\/em> was the smallest and least valuable coin in circulation in Judea<\/a>, worth about six minutes of an average daily wage. That’s so insignificant. To the world, that amount isn’t worth even giving, but even Jesus recognized this as “GREAT!” This story is still told today. Why? The Widow gave all she had. She did her best and her best outperformed even the largest sum that was given that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So truthfully, what is it to ” Do Something Great?” It all depends on the person’s need at that very moment. It could be as simple as giving someone a compliment, sending an encouraging text or letting someone know you were thinking about them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DO SOMETHING GREAT<\/strong>!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

So the phrase “DO SOMETHING GREAT” has really caught on. My circle of friends has started saying this all the time. It’s being sent as a text message regularly.
